The Poulenc oboe sonata was composed 1962 in commemoration of Sergei Prokofiev, this piece is from a selection of one of three sonatas composed in the memory of a composer or musician. This piece shows the range and contrast  an oboist  can create whilst exploring a variety of different emotions.
